Ghibli Park has released a printable “Big Stroll” visitor guide that says there are no trash cans in the theme park.
    Ahead of its opening on Nov. 1, Ghibli Park encouraged visitors to print the illustrated guide on an A4 paper and fold it in four. The guide details what visitors can expect from the theme park and what they should bring.

    The “Big Stroll” guide, which references the opening song “Sampo (Stroll)” from the 1988 film “My Neighbor Totoro,” features artwork from Studio Ghibli film director and Ghibli Park lead planner Goro Miyazaki. On its front page, there are drawings of Mei and a pair of Totoros as well as boxes in which visitors can write their names.

    The second page lists recommended attire and items for visitors to bring for both hot and cold days, including hats, backpacks and easy-to-walk-in shoes. The pamphlet also notes that guests are not allowed to bring outside food into Ghibli Park. However, they can enjoy meals at the Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park.
    The guide also features a hand-drawn map that illustrates the theme park’s attraction areas, including Hill of Youth, Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse and Dondoko Forest. The last page serves as a reminder for guests to purchase tickets, which are issued for a specific entry date and time, before arriving at the park. It also includes other useful information, such as the fact that there are no trash cans in the establishment – visitors are asked to bring their trash home with them.
    Ghibli Park is located at Aichi Expo Memorial Park in Nagakute, a city in Aichi prefecture. The theme park is inspired by the beloved films of Hayao Miyazaki and his animation studio Studio Ghibli. Starting next week, visitors can take a stroll around the theme park’s first attractions, including the Grand Warehouse, the Hill of Youth and Dondoko Forest.
